[VIDEO] You Already Have The Light Rays

Posted on -

You look at the world out there, and you get the idea that what you’re looking at is outside of you.

But it’s not.

You’re actually, in a way, looking at yourself. I’ll explain. Stay with me.

So we know from science that light rays originate from a light source, and bounce off an object, and depending on the properties of the object they bounce off with a certain frequency of vibration. Then the light rays hit your retina’s photoreceptor cells that receive the light. Behind them the data is processed a little bit, then gets transmitted as electrical impulses through your optic nerve into your brain. Only in your brain is it finally assembled into an image. Part of the image we call color, which is just a representation of the vibrations of the light rays. It’s not what things actually are like.

So what you think you see, these colored, 3-dimensional objects out there, you don’t. You’re looking at your own mind’s interpretation of what’s out there. Before that, it was just electrical impulses going through your optic nerve.

So here’s why it’s important to understand that when you see is inside of yourself.

When you try to see something that you think is outside of yourself but isn’t, you strain your eyes to try to bring it in when it’s already inside your mind. So you can see how this would mess things up? You already have it. It’s already there. And you’re trying to get more of it by doing something with your eyes when you’re already past that point.

And so if you can imagine for a moment that you already have all the data that you need to see… You’ve already glanced at a couple parts of an object and you have tons of data from that, and now you’re just looking at what you’ve collected inside your head. How much of a relief is that? Doesn’t it feel better? Doesn’t it feel a lot more relaxing, when you don’t have to try to see anything?

So take a moment to look around the room, and no matter how blurry it is, don’t try to make it better. That’s what you see. That’s what you’ve got.

You don’t have direct control over how well your eyes focus in any kind of effective way, whether you’re trying to force them to focus or you’re working on relaxing your eyes – to force them to focus! – It doesn’t work that way. Your subconscious mind is what controls this. So when you acknowledge that your subconscious mind is in control of this and it’s the only thing that can focus your eyes in an effective way, quickly and automatically, and you step back to allow your mind to take charge and have the power to focus your eyes, things work better. It happens in its own time.

That’s why people get moments of clearer vision all of a sudden when they’re practicing the kinds of methods I promote. They can’t say exactly what caused it. They pay attention, and it happens again and again, over a period of weeks, months, years… And they can’t pin down exactly what causes it. It’s because a lot of it’s happening in your mind when you give it the power and you’re stepping back and not getting in the way. That’s why it kind of seems like you didn’t do anything, because that’s true.

So that’s just part of the way of thinking that I think is really effective in improving your vision.

Try it out and see what happens.

I founded iblindness.org in 2002 as I began reading books on the Bates Method and became interested in vision improvement. I believe that everyone who is motivated can identify the roots of their vision problems and apply behavioral changes to solve them.
