It’s so subtle…
When you believe in something, the “how to do it” develops naturally, both consciously and subconsciously.
Not everyone appreciates the power that your thoughts have.
When you’re asleep, dreaming, and you’re faced with a scary presence in front of you and you’re instilled with fear, and you just take a second to change your attitude, if you can just change your attitude in front of that presence – because of course, you’re making it up anyway, in your own little world inside of you – and change from fear to embracing the monster as a part of you, embracing it with love, instantly everything changes! The whole dream environment, or the feeling of it, changes instantly from that point on. Just that one little thought, and the effect is instant.
So if your whole inner environment can transform so quickly and easily, this gives you an idea of the power of one thought, while you’re awake, over the way your brain works and your inner environment while you’re awake. And we already know this, with positive thinking… I’m reading a book right now, The Magic of Thinking Big, great book, old, but timeless. It’s one of those classics. Check it out. It’s on Amazon. I’ve got it on my Kindle. I’m only like 10% of the way through it and already I’d recommend it based on what I’ve read so far that inspired me.
But things like that show you – and there are many other books of that same nature, if not as good or well-known – that the power of your thoughts, with positive thinking or whatever various authors want to call it, it’s getting to be very well-known that your thoughts in every moment have a huge influence over your actions and what you’re capable of. And really that’s kind of obvious. We just can’t taught that very well when we’re little.
Even so, the idea of using these little thoughts might seem really innocuous for improving your vision, where you think you have to whip your eyes into shape or actually DO something and not just think your way through it. Thinking won’t have any effect, or so you think. In that same vein you can do things to relax your eyes, and that does help as a preliminary step to get you into the right place where you can do the real work. At some point you have to get down to how you think, because that’s what’s continually feeding your problem and the way you are, the way your mind is working.
Your thoughts represent your beliefs, and you’ve got certain beliefs. If your beliefs are in conflict with what you want to do, you’re not going to get anywhere. You feed your subconscious mind with your thoughts, and that’s really determines what happens next.

I founded iblindness.org in 2002 as I began reading books on the Bates Method and became interested in vision improvement. I believe that everyone who is motivated can identify the roots of their vision problems and apply behavioral changes to solve them.
